Christmas is such an exciting time of the year for adults and children! We all love to receive gifts, but I also want the kids to understand that Christmas is about giving love and showing kindness to others. Today we are beginning a project in class called "12 Days of Christmas Kindness." Below is the Santa Claus that will be hanging in our classroom. Each day we will cut a strip off of his beard and complete the act of kindness that is listed. We will only be doing our acts of kindness on school days so that we can talk about and reflect on how we showed kindness to others. Today is Day 1 and our goal is to, "Smile at as many people as you can today." It's amazing how something as simple as a smile can brighten someone's day! All of the students will be bringing home their own Santa Claus to hang on the fridge at home. Imagine all of the Christmas Kindness we could share if all of our 2nd grade families participated!
