Here's What's Happening in Second Grade!
During math we will be focusing on using different addition strategies {counting on, doubles, doubles plus one, and making ten} that will help us meet our goal of mastering our addition facts by the end of second grade. You can help at home by encouraging your child to complete Xtra Math or practicing math facts by using flash cards.
Our story for the week is Crankenstein by Samantha Berger. We'll be learning how to make predictions while reading a text and reviewing problem and solution. We'll also practice sequencing the story and making connections to the text.
