IT'S A BIRD! IT'S A PLANE! IT'S SECOND GRADE!
HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MRS. BRUNT'S CLASS!
This week, we will continue our study of geometry and will learn how to partition rectangles and make equal groups. We're nearing the end of unit 8, so the unit 8 review will be coming home next Friday, May 6th and is due Monday, May 9th. We will have our test on Wednesday, May 11th. The review is worth 10 points if your child turns it in on time! Also, it's that time of year where we will start to review for our year-end testing. We plan to start mid-May, so please remind your child to get a good night's sleep and to do his or her best on each test. This is the time where we celebrate all of the growth and learning that has taken place this year! So exciting!
Our story this week is titled Mice and Beans. We will be studying fantasy vs. reality and adjectives. Also, we'll continue our study of matter this week. We'll be learning about physical and chemical changes in matter and we've got some more fun, hands-on experiments as well! The fifth graders are hosting mini-society this week and our shopping day will be on Thursday, May 5th. Please keep your eye on your child's mail for more information on this opportunity for your second grader to shop 'til they drop!
