Today was an amazing day in second grade, filled with problem-solving, collaboration, and perseverance as we worked on not one, but TWO very fun STEM projects! We paired up with Mrs. Schmidt's class in the morning to see who could build the tallest Christmas tree out of Solo cups. Our tallest tree came in at a whopping 70 inches! The kids worked hard as they built their trees, measured, and tore them down to see how they could improve their designs. Below are some pictures from our fun-filled morning! Working on STEM projects is tiring! Following lunch & recess, we began our second project. Santa's sleigh had broken down and he needed a parachute so that he could safely get to the ground and continue to deliver presents! The kids worked with their groups to come up with parachute designs that would keep Santa safe. Everyone came up with some very different and innovative designs!
