We're Learning So Much...It's Scary!
Here's What's Happening in Second Grade!
Our story for this week is Miss Rumphius and our focus will be character motivation (why a character does something) and how flashbacks are used in the story to explain WHY something happened. We'll also be reading a nonfiction reader about Earth Day and learning a little more about this holiday in April. We'll also spend some time reviewing how to compare and contrast fiction texts.
After spending the last several weeks on learning the ins and outs of multiplication, we are finally going to learn about division. We'll spend the week engaging in many hands-on activities that will familiarize students with the concept of repeated subtraction and equal groups.
