It's a bird! it's a plane! It's second grade!
Here's what's happening in mrs. brunt's class!
This week we will continue to work through unit 5 in our Everyday Math curriculum. Our lessons will include skills such as: calculating coins; exploring arrays, time and shapes; mentally adding and subtracting 10 and 100; and using open number lines. Our story for this week will be Splish! Splash! Animal Baths. We will learn all about different animals and their needs. We will also learn to compare, or tell how two things are alike and contrast, or tell how two things are different. Our grammar lessons will focus on using linking verbs such as be, am, is, are, was, and were.
Finally, we will be teaming up with Mrs. Schmidt's class again on Monday afternoon for another fun STEM challenge. Check back later this week for pictures detailing our innovative and fun learning activity! Don't forget about our Valentine's party this Friday morning. There are a few slots left in our sign-up above if you are interested in donating any items for the party. You are welcome to join us any time after 9:30am.
Hope to see you then!
