Here's What's Happening in Mrs. Brunt's Room!
Speaking of homework, the kids have been asking when we will have our first homework in 2nd grade! Well, ask and you shall receive! The first homework packet will come home on Friday, October 9th and homework will always be due the following Friday. However, your child is welcome to turn in their homework as soon as it is completed! The packet will always contain one sheet of language arts and math homework. In addition, a sharing page will be included. Students are to answer the writing prompt on the sharing page by writing at least 5 sentences and drawing a colorful & creative picture to go with their writing. Students will present sharing pages in class and will be graded on their writing and speaking.
Our story this week is titled Meet Rosina. Rosina is an 8-year-old girl who is deaf. We learn that even though Rosina is different, she is like her classmates in many ways! We also learn a few words in sign language and I teach all of the kids how to sign their names! We will continue to focus on main idea & details and subjects & predicates. We will also be celebrating "Bat Week."
Make sure to check the blog for pictures…next week is going to be batty!
