During writer's workshop, we are putting the finishing touches on our personal narrative about a time when we were afraid. We'll edit on Monday and publish our writing on Tuesday. Math will be all about double-digit subtraction without regrouping. We'll focus on using place value (tens and ones) to learn how to subtract 2-digit numbers. We will not have one specific story for the week, but will be reading several Thanksgiving and turkey-themed books together and participating in a fun Thanksgiving reader's theater.
On Monday afternoon, we will have our Brownie Point reward. The class has earned ten Brownie Points and we will be watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and having a chocolate party! We just finished reading the book and the kids can't wait to watch the movie!
One last reminder...kids filed out their Scholastic wish lists last Friday. The Scholastic order is due this coming Friday, November 24th. If you would like to order books as Christmas gifts for your students, please send me a quick e-mail and let me know so that I can set your order aside and give it to you without your kiddos finding out!
