Shiver me timbers!
Here's What's Happening in second grade!
During writer's workshop, we are wrapping up our first personal narrative about a time in our lives when we were sick or hurt. We've been focusing on expanding a small moment and adding lots of juicy details to our writing. We will publish our writing this week and our work will be on display in the second grade hallway when you stop in for the Halloween parade and party. We can't wait to share all of our hard work with you!
Our math lessons this week will be all about ordering and comparing numbers. After our intense study of place value, I think the kids will catch on quickly to this concept. We'll be reviewing how to correctly order numbers and how to use the greater than, less than, and equal symbols. By the end of the week, the plan is to have a quick "Celebration of Learning" (aka test!) and move on to our next unit.
