Here's What''s Happening in Second Grade!
Our story for this week is Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch by Eileen Spinelli. We'll be focusing on point of view, abbreviations, and even learning a little about the history of Hershey's candy! I will go ahead and include a link to our story for the week below since the kids enjoyed it so much last week!
On Monday, we will take another short assessment on the value of money. After that, we'll move into a new measurement unit. We'll begin by introducing the ruler and measuring with inches. Students will also learn how to estimate the length of an object.
Last, but not least, we will be completing some fun Valentine's themed learning activities this week and we will also be taking our NWEA assessment in the computer lab. We will take our reading test this Wednesday and our math test next Wednesday. Our test will be Wednesday morning, so please make sure that your child has had a good night of rest and a hearty breakfast so that they can rock the test!
