Here's What's Happening in second grade!
Now it's on to another exciting week in second grade! This coming week will be all about bats. Our story for the week is Stellaluna by Janell Cannon. We will be learning some new bat-themed vocabulary, working on problem and solution, and using strong verbs. During writer's workshop, we will continue to work on our "Ouch!" personal narratives about a time when we were sick or hurt. We've already brainstormed and written our rough drafts, so this week we will be editing, revising, and publishing the final copy of our personal narratives. We will be wrapping up unit 2 in our Everyday Math curriculum on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will review together and I will send home a quick review sheet for you an your child to complete together. Our test will be Thursday...just in time to get those grades in by the end of the first marking period on Friday!
